Oh definitely being able to go right up so close to the primates - especially the big ones like the gorillas and the orangs - is awesome. I'm not much one for primates but since they've been given so much nicer places to live and things to do, they're so much more fun. I mean... when I was a kid the gorillas used to literally fling poo at the people looking at them. They were SO angry, because all they had was a huge cement slab and a bunch of people gawking at them.

Now it's so different. The new Monkey Trails area where they've got the smaller primates like colobus and other little ones, they put that in and for the very first time I ever saw monkeys *preening each other*. Like they'd do naturally. You NEVER saw them doing that in their little concrete cell blocks from before. I love my zoo.
